Executive Board Members

President - Dani LaFleur

I am excited about 2012 and all of the opportunities it of-fers. There are certain areas of our chapter that I would like to focus on. The first of these areas is our participation. I joined the Jaycees in 2007 in order to meet new people. Not only did this great chapter help me meet people with similar interests, but they gave me the ability to serve my com-munity by providing connections to community service opportunities.
Why did you join the Jaycees? All too often we see only half of our membership at pro-jects. I want to increase that to all of our members. Each and every one of you joined the Jaycees for a reason and knowing that can help me get you involved. I don’t expect eve-ry member to come to every project but it would be great to see or hear from you once in a while.
Communication
This chapter wouldn’t be as great as it is without its members. By working together and increasing communication, we can help this chapter grow. I want to know what you think and run the projects you want to run. I hope to eliminate the barrier that seems to have grown up between the board of directors and the membership. We are here to serve you, guide you, and help you grow as leaders. Communication is key to this endeavor!
Membership Benefits
As I mentioned before, this chapter would be nothing without its members. It is past time to update our membership benefits. For several years the chapter has struggled financial-ly, but due to the hard work of our members, we are once again stable. I would like to re-ward our members for their part in this stability. In addition to getting member t-shirts, we can help cut costs for events. We can also better utilize the membership directory that was compiled last year. It includes a list of discounts available to Jaycees. What else can we do for you?
Project Scheduling
I want to make sure that we run a wide range of projects that speak to each and every member of the Greater Muskegon Jaycees. That being said, the Board of Directors and I want to avoid over scheduling projects. We have worked hard to build a schedule that of-fers quality over quantity. We know that you all have lives outside of the Jaycees and we do not want to burn you out! I hope that we can keep a path of communication open. Don’t forget to read your weekly Highlights and the monthly newsletter. Join us at Membership Meetings to learn what is going on in the chapter and to let us know what you would like to get out of your membership. I also encourage you to reach out to me and the other Board members in between meetings and events. We are just a click away!

Executive VP - Kari Fan

I couldn’t me more excited to be serving as your Executive Vice President this year. “Executive Vice President?” You might be wondering WHAT exactly that means. Well I am too! That’s the most fun thing about this new role for me!! I have spent the last three years serving as your director and Vice President in Individual Development and Management De-velopment, which were all about FUN and getting down to business, respectively. This year, my role is ALL ABOUT YOU, our member! I am here to help mentor your very talented Vice Presidents, Chris Annis, Beryl Gabel and Kasey Rose and help them to be the very best VPs you have ever seen! In addition, I’m here to be our lovely President Dani LaFleur’s witch (replace the “w” with a “b” and you’ll have a better idea of my job description). I have also taken on duties of our chapter’s Treasurer, so you’ll be enthusiastically renewing your mem-bership this year with me!
But most of all, I am here to help you take away the most from your Jaycee Experience. This chapter is all about you, your goals, your passions, and what you take away from being a Jaycee. The Jaycee Experience is something that’s deeply person-al to each of us individually, but I firmly believe there’s a common thread that connects us all and that’s a drive to be GREATER (we are Greater Muskegon after all)! We all want something MORE. Whether it is a desire for something more for ourselves, our careers or our community, we all share a drive to live our lives to the fullest. We are not happy with “good enough.” Let me be your sounding board for your ideas, dreams, and even complaints (yes, I know what I’m getting myself in to). I am your voice on our board of directors. But in order to do that, I need to hear from you! Together, let’s continue our legacy of being one of the best Jaycee chapters in not just the state, but I dare say the world!

Director - Alyssa Neer

I am so excited to start the New Year on the board of the Greater Muskegon Jaycees. I joined this organization in March of last year and it has been a wonderful experience so far. As one of your directors on the board, you might want to know a little more about me. I am a Graduate of Western Michigan University………GO BRONCOS; where I majored in Business Management with a minor in General Business. I am currently working at Lake Michigan Credit Union at the corporate office in mortgage servicing. When I am not working or being a Jaycees, I am usually reading; fun fact, I am almost always carrying a book with me wherever I go. Other than loving the summer and going to the beach, I am an avid movie watcher, so if you ever need someone to go to the movies with keep me in mind. I am excited to get to know everyone better and have another wonderful year of being a Jaycee.

Director - Dave Ross

Chairman of the Board - Tara Mack

Welcome to 2012 Greater Muskegon Jaycees! My name is Tara Mack and I am your Chairwoman of the Board this year. As well as serving as this year’s COB I am also the District 2 Director for the State of Michigan. For those of you that do not know me, I live eat and breathe the Jaycees and I love every minute of it! In my mind I think that if you are a young professional in Muskgeon you should be a Jaycee. Trust me, I am always pitching it to everyone I know. In my spare time I am the General Manager of the Hampton Inn and an Aunt to my beautiful niece Myla!
Serving as your District 2 Director I am here for you. If you have any questions, concerns or comments that is where I come into play. Along with Greater Muskegon Jaycees, I will also be working with the Ludington, Big Rapids and Grand Haven chapters. With that being said, if you ever want to join me while visiting these chapters I would love a co-pilot My goals for 2012 is to be available to each and everyone you, help our chapter be successful again and of course grow our membership.
Let’s get ready to have fun this year!
