The Business of Tourism
Wednesday May 16
With the departure of many manufacturing jobs over the past 10 years that have powered Muskegon's economy, the city and county have forth a lot of effort in promoting the tourism aspects of our area. Join us for a tour of the CVB offices and a presentation by the Community Development Director, Bob Lukens, who will tell us about the business of tourism in the area and what we can do to promote it. In addition to the CVB itself, Bob will also talk to us about the building (formerly the main train depot in Muskegon, it has been around for over 120 years) and its historical significance to our community.
Since taking the position last fall, Bob has been a great friend and proponent of our chapter – he was heavily involved in this year’s Snowfest and was one of the driving forces behind the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. He has a real passion for our area, and is eager to share it. Join us!
